A group of serious runners, dog owners and both, were welcomed to Lacombe Park on Saturday August 26 for the Instabox Dog Jog for SCARS. In what it is hoped will become an annual event, participants took in a 5K or 10K run/walk, many with dogs to help power them along. With generously-donated prizes and treats (human and canine) a great time was had by all. With the help and support of the Running Room, Instabox Sales Manager Eric Miller organized an invigorating and entertaining event. With the donations and registrations from participants and friends, the event will have contributed significantly to helping SCARS carry on its rescue work. Instabox provided all the partcipants and volunteers with T-shirts, and contributed many of the prizes. Owners Greg and Drew Mace were on hand to help with the festivities, and provide their always-warm welcome.
SCARS is grateful to all those who contributed to the event’s success. Save-On Foods contributed water and granola bars, while The Organic Box provided organic fruit. Josh Quinlan from Mountain Dog Food, who has just adopted a SCARS rescue pup, contributed dog treats for the canine participants and prizes for the draws. We are indebted to all the prize donors, and to Instabox for their unwavering support, and look forward to next year’s Dog Jog.
