Hi there. This is Celia’s foster mom. Normally when we write bios for the animals that come into our care, we try to write it from their perspective, so that you get to know them. With this little girl, I just can’t “hear” her voice yet. Celia and her siblings came into SCARS care in obvious need of medical care, Celia especially. Before she even arrived, she already had a vet appointment scheduled in the hopes of good news that her eyes are only suffering from a serious infection that we could treat, and hopefully save her vision. At this point, we don’t know if that is true. Celia is currently following the vets recommendation for her care and we will continue to monitor her.
Because her inner eyelids are covering so much of her eyes, she can’t really see much of anything. But that is certainly not stopping her.  She listens very intently to her surroundings and plays like a mad fiend with her brothers Ari & Sinbad. She loves any type of toy that makes noise so she can locate it. When she hears me call her, she comes running for me, and when she makes contact, starts purring like a beautiful little motor. Her keen sense of smell helps her locate both her food & water, and her litter box. She does bump into things, but she’s developing a pretty good lay of the land. She has access to a scratching post which she navigates well. Instead of jumping off of it, she backs down, which is pretty darn smart on her part.
Stay tuned to Celia’s profile to see how she is doing.

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
