Update April 2017:
Well, it’s taken me a few weeks but I’m pretty settled in my foster home now and my confidence is coming back to me. I’m an outgoing, affectionate cat who likes to be near his humans to see what’s going on – and if I can help. While you put the laundry up, I’ll be wrestling those socks into submission for you. Helping level: expert.
In the morning and during the evening I like to be out and about, playing with toys or with the resident cat. I enjoy everything that dangles above my head and will happily bat at them for as long as you’re happy to be there. Cuddly stuffed toys that I can roll around with are also fantastic. I do a decent version of ‘fetch’ too if you throw things for me; I’ve got the chasing-after-things part down, and am working on the bringing-them-back part! I do play with toys by myself as well, but I prefer to have your attention.
During the daytime you’ll find me sleeping around the house – under couches, on chairs, and in closets. In the evenings when I’m done playing, I’ve started to join foster mom on the couch for some snuggle time. I enjoy being petted, particularly head scratches, and I’m just as affectionate with visitors. Sometimes I change from cuddly to playful without warning though, and treat your hand as a toy, so I’m probably not a good match for anyone with young children.
A final note – I shed a lot, so be prepared! I am easy to brush as long as you bribe me with treats though.
Three Fun Fonzie Facts:
1. When I am awoken from sleep, I make a noise like a grumbly warbling baby penguin.
2. My fluffy white coat makes me look like a tiny polar bear. (I am much more cuddly than a polar bear though.)
3. I haven’t got the hang of running on hardwood floors yet, so my legs go faster than the rest of me and I trundle along like an uncoordinated guinea pig.
I’m having a great time in my foster home! Now that I’ve settled in, I’m much more present during the day. I enjoy chasing toys around, particularly the bigger ones that I can jump on and wrestle.
The resident cat and I get along well; we play chase up and down the hallway, and hide-and-seek around the apartment. I don’t mind the dog either as long as he’s slow when he comes towards me. He can sniff me and we can hang out together, but right now I still get scared if he tries to play with me. If you have a calm and gentle dog then I would be absolutely fine with that.
