Hello, and thank you for checking out my profile. I’m Lucy! I’ve been with SCARS for quite awhile now. My foster family is quite happy having me around and of course they are super nice people, but I would like a permanent home of my own.

A short synopsis of my time with SCARS: nothing is known about me prior to coming into care. I was found with some injuries to my abdomen that looked like they were healing. Likely I was attacked by an animal. The people who found me connected me with the fine folks at SCARS who put me in a foster home. I healed up with no issues and don’t have any known medical concerns. I was adopted out, but unfortunately returned as the placement wasn’t a good fit. The other cat there didn’t do well with sharing her space with me, so SCARS took me back and I went back to the same foster home.

When I first came to my foster home my behaviour was a bit aggressive (likely due to having to fend for myself in the outdoors for sometime). However, I have calmed down A LOT. I’m an affectionate girl who loves to cuddle with people. I also like playing with other cats. I have quite a bit of energy, so if you have an elderly kitty who doesn’t like to play I will probably make them unhappy….I really like to play with other cats.

I enjoy cat trees, cat beds, and human beds. I require portioned feeding, as we tried free feeding me at my foster home and I gained some weight. So to keep me healthy I need your help with portion control. I’m good with using my litter box. I also use scratching posts to keep my nails healthy.

There are a couple human kids at my foster home who I’m good with. I’ve also lived with kittens and have been good with them too (I did have to learn to play more gently though). There was a calm old dog at my foster home who didn’t bother me and I was okay with him. Unfortunately he passed away about 6 months ago and I haven’t been living with a dog since. However, I think I would be fine living with a dog again.

If you think I’d be a good fit for you or you would like to know more about me please fill out an application and submit it to SCARS. If you don’t think I would be a good fit for your family that is okay too. SCARS has lots of cats, so just have a look through the profiles and I’m sure you will find the kitty for you.

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we will deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
