Update November 11 : Luna here, now that I have spent some time in my new foster home it is time for an update! Foster mom says I am a very sweet and talkative girl, I can strike up a conversation about anything! I have not been a big fan of my cat foster sisters so I think I would do best in a home with no other cats. I have not been exposed to any dogs while in SCARS care but foster mom thinks that due to my negative experience with dogs in the past it is a safe bet that I wouldn’t enjoy their company either. When my foster mom and I are alone I love getting scratches and pats, but once I’ve gotten my fill I am content to just be near her and curl up for a nap or look out the window. I am a very clean girl and I pride myself on keeping a very tidy litter box as well. You may notice when you first meet me that my shoulders look a little funny but I have been checked out and x-rayed and everything came back normal, foster mom says it makes me unique and now that we have spent so much time together she doesn’t even notice it. So if you can offer me a home where I am the sole reigning cat (don’t I look so regal!) and you are looking for a sweet girl who makes a great companion, please let SCARS know!

Luna: One life down. Eight lives to go!
I’m so lucky that SCARS is active in my town. After taking a beating from some neighbourhood dogs, I wasn’t in very good shape. A kind person rescued me and called SCARS to take me in.

When I was at the vet, I was spayed, microchipped and vaccinated – getting the SCARS 5 star package. Lucky again that SCARS found me and spayed me. The vet discovered that I had a torn uterus. That could have spelled the end of all my lives if I had become pregnant and tried to carry the babies to term.

That’s all history. Now I’m raring to go and will be up for adoption on the website in a jiffy. Let’s share the rest of my lives forever!!!

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we will deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
