***spoiler alert***   I’m not as big or as mature as I look in my photos.

Being 5-6 months old, I’m in that teenage demographic – not a baby anymore and not yet an adult. I’m smart, loyal, engaged and ready to learn. We border collie types have a desire to be on the move mentally and physically. Thankfully, I do have an off switch and am fairly relaxed in the house. I do however keep an eye on you and  will follow you around in case something might be “up”.

My foster mom is not a trainer. She loves all her foster pups and we have a great time, but I would truly thrive with someone who wanted to train me – tricks, agility, herding, something ongoing and stimulating. Sit, stay, come, heel? That would all be a yawn after the first little while. Already I can crawl and dance.  Not on command, but hey, like I said, mom’s not a trainer!

I’m comfortable with and respectful of the 3 dogs, 2 horses and one barn cat at my foster home. Cold weather doesn’t stop me. I love outdoor activities! Hiking, biking, jogging, exploring, trail riding, skiing? Sign me up! Not for me long hours of waiting at home for my people. I don’t think I would like that much because I love to be with you or with a doggy buddy.

Right now, I’m about 15” at the shoulder but still have quite a bit of growing to do. Foster mom thinks I may be 40-50 pounds as an adult. I’m likely not a pure border collie. Probably mixed with a lab somewhere along the way.  Housetraining is still in progress because I’ve not lived in a house before.

If you can give me an active and interesting life, make sure that I get socialized and trained to be a good citizen, please apply via the adopt me icon.

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we will deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
