Well time for an update from me. I’m doing great in my foster home. I like it here in the country. No stress. I have a nice couch to sleep on and a dog door to come and go as I please. Foster mom says my forever home will need to be on a farm or acreage. The nice people at the Westlock Veterinary Center have been working trying to get my infection under control. Unfortunately the infection seems to be into the bone and cannot be cleared up with antibiotics. To keep me well it looks like they will need to amputate my leg. Don’t be sad for me. Foster mom says I’m a tough guy with a zest for life so she is confident that I will adjust and have a happy, healthy life. Please keep me in your thoughts as I go through this surgery. Foster mom will update you on post surgery progress.
I’m a regal gentleman who just loves, loves, loves people. I’m a pretty laid back older guy so none of those puppy shenanigans. I’m great with other dogs if introduced properly but my favorite thing is hanging out with my human. I’m just really happy to be by your side. I’m a bit of a free spirit so I’m not a fan of being caged. I’m being fostered on acreage right now and I’m just happy to hang out in the yard and come in the sunroom/porch to sleep on my nice soft bed at night. My preference is to be outside so I would be best suited on a farm or acreage where I can come and go as I please. I’m a very good boy about staying in the yard. The nice people at SCARS took me in and are treating me for some injuries. You see, I’m missing my right foot from an old injury and have an infection in my right leg from other untreated injuries. SCARS is working with my veterinary team to get the infection under control and hopefully avoid amputation. I’m a tough old guy though so I will deal with whatever comes my way. Foster mom will keep you updated on my progress.
