Elliott was hit by a vehicle and then attacked by other free roaming dogs

February 13 update: My surgery was successful and now I’m ready to move to a SCARS foster home!

February 8, 2017 – You see my bloody leg? It’s dramatic and ugly but it’s not the worst of my injuries by a long shot. I was run over by a minivan in my home community. When my other dog “buddies” saw me struggling to get up, they attacked me, as often happens in a survival-of-the-fittest society. That gash on my leg is a deeply torn puncture wound. Lucky for me, there were caring people around who chased the other dogs away. The local bylaw officer made sure that I got to a SCARS vet hospital as fast as possible. Once there, it was found that my pelvis had sustained a complicated fracture that was too advanced of a surgery for a vet in general practice. Therefore I’m on my way to Guardian Veterinary Centre in Edmonton. The operation will be complex and require a specialist.

Please keep me in your thoughts and watch for updates. Also, specialists don’t come cheap and SCARS funds are pretty low right now. If you can afford to donate even a little towards my surgery and care, we would all be very grateful.

The donation options make this a simple process. Thanks very much for heading to https://scarscare.ca/how-you-can-help/donate/
