Thank you to everyone who supported our 13 annual Tails on the Trails pledged dog walk and “Bark Party” on Saturday, July 29 at Lion’s Park. We had perfect weather, a lot of fun and grossed nearly $30,000 from pledges combined with event activities such as our BBQ, beer garden and bake sale.
Congratulations to our top pledge collector Winnie Wong who won the iPad (donated by Instabox) and to Cindy Haywood who came in second. Honourable mention to Nicole Dinstel and Bruce Peachey who came in a close third and fourth. Carla McNabb had the winning 50/50 ticket (number 790831) and claimed a prize of $337.50. The dog basket Raffle was won by Doreen MacIntosh.
We are grateful to Instabox & Westlock Veterinary Centre for being “Protector” level sponsors, G&E Pharmacy for a “friend” level sponsorship and Paula Bissell for providing a $5,000 sponsorship.
We are also grateful to our exhibitors, including:
- Delton Veterinary Hospital
- Saputo Dairy
- Part Of The Family Pet Memorial Centre
- Frenette Nails
- Orangetheory Fitness
- Oasis Fish & Reptile
- Welsh’s Saddlery & Western Wear
- Cheryl Smith – Tupperware
Kudos to United Cycle for the “Tutor Shooter,” six canopies, 100 water bottles and for hosting a water station at the walk’s half-way turn-around.
Thank you to our hard working planning committee, all the event day volunteers (special shout out to the bake sale team), the St. Albert Fire Department (for filling the wading pools for the dogs), the ladies from Beer Hunter Bar & Grill (who helped with our Beer Garden), our DJ and our MC (Sara Klapstein).
And, last but not least, thank you to Dayla Lahring (reporter) and Chris Colbourne (photographer) from the St. Albert Gazette for covering our event. Please read the news story here.
