Meet the Star Wars Babies. Born on May 4th by an emergency c-section, our mom didn’t have any milk to feed us, so we were moved to a foster home capable of caring for us around the clock when a surrogate mom couldn’t be found. Our foster mom stayed up with us 24/7 for those first days to make sure we got all the nourishment and care we could. Sadly, one of our siblings has passed away as she was just too small and fragile. We are now two weeks old, and we’ve doubled our birth weight. The gains are small as we’re still very tiny, but any gain is celebrated! Each weigh in, we get told we’re good little babies and get kisses on our foreheads and then tucked back into our warm bed with bellies full of milk. We eat every 2.5-3 hours now and sleep pretty much the rest of the time. Our eyes and ears are beginning to open and we can see and hear what the world has to offer us. Apparently, the timing on this is quite excellent as we’ve been told there’s an important thing to see called the “Battle of Alberta” hockey playoffs. I’m sure we’ll love it. Foster Dad says we’re to cheer for the Oilers. Our foster Dad also says because we were born on Star Wars Day, we have to be named for Star Wars characters…
We are Wicket, Chewy, Yoda and Grogu. Even if some of us are girls, we figure that’s ok, as we’re fuzzy like Wookies and Ewoks and cute as whatever Yoda and Grogu are.
We won’t be ready for adoption for at least two months, but foster mom will keep sending updates. Go OILERS Go!
