Position Summary:
Assist in the daily operations at the Athabasca Intake Facility, which is located 23 kilometres north of the Town of Athabasca.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exercise dogs on our beautiful rural trails.
- Complete the daily cleaning procedures to maintain a clean environment that is healthy and safe
- Administer any necessary medications
- Ensure all animals are receiving adequate nutrition and exercise
- Transporting animals to and from vet appointments
- Communicate animal related health and behavioural concerns and any occupational hazards to management
- Respond to any emergencies as needed
- Assist with facility maintenance
Qualifications:
- Must have a genuine concern about the well-being of animals
- Must enjoy working outside and be able to work in all weather conditions
- Organized, detailed oriented, and reliable
- Good interpersonal skills
- Has the ability to set priorities and manage workloads with minimal supervision
- Class 5 Drivers License
Experience
- Must have experience handling dogs and cats.
Working conditions
- Must be physically able to handle dogs and cats
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Daytime shift, required to work some weekends and holidays
