Position Summary:

Assist in the daily operations at the Athabasca Intake Facility, which is located 23 kilometres north of the Town of Athabasca.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exercise dogs on our beautiful rural trails.
  • Complete the daily cleaning procedures to maintain a clean environment that is healthy and safe
  • Administer any necessary medications
  • Ensure all animals are receiving adequate nutrition and exercise
  • Transporting animals to and from vet appointments
  • Communicate animal related health and behavioural concerns and any occupational hazards to management
  • Respond to any emergencies as needed
  • Assist with facility maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Must have a genuine concern about the well-being of animals
  • Must enjoy working outside and be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Organized, detailed oriented, and reliable
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Has the ability to set priorities and manage workloads with minimal supervision
  • Class 5 Drivers License

Experience

  • Must have experience handling dogs and cats.

Working conditions

  • Must be physically able to handle dogs and cats
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Daytime shift, required to work some weekends and holidays
